Pyongyang Naengmyeon is a traditional Korean cold noodle dish made with buckwheat noodles served in a chilled, light and refreshing broth.
Unlike many Korean dishes, it’s not particularly sweet, salty, or spicy. Instead, it has a subtle, delicate flavor with a distinct nutty aroma from the buckwheat. It’s usually topped with sliced beef, cucumber, pickled radish, and egg.
As someone who isn’t Korean, the flavor was definitely unfamiliar to me at first, but there’s something seriously addictive about it! I found myself thinking about it again the very next day. 😂
