Daegu is famous for a dish called beef sashimi. Since it is raw beef, it might feel unfamiliar at first. It is also known as “mungtigi.” Despite how it looks, the texture is incredibly chewy, and when dipped into the sauce, it becomes rich and nutty in flavor.
The sauce is the key. It is made with soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, chili flakes, black pepper, and sesame seeds.
