Korean Dubai Cookies (They’re Not From Dubai!)

Korea is obsessed with Dubai Chewy Cookies (두바이쫀득쿠키 or “Dujjonku (두쫀쿠) ) right now! Despite the name, these are 100% Korean-made—not from Dubai. They took Middle Eastern knafeh (crispy shredded pastry) + pistachio filling, wrapped it in marshmallow dough, and coated it in cocoa powder. Total game-changer!

What’s inside:

  1. Core: Crispy knafeh + creamy pistachio paste + white chocolate (crunchy & nutty)
  2. Outer layer: Chewy marshmallow dough rolled in cocoa + milk powder
  3. Result: Perfect chewy-crisp combo that’s addictively delicious (“mat-eob-eob (맛없없)” = “too delicious to exist” in Korean slang!)

Funny twist? Now they’re selling these in Dubai as “Korean Chewy Cookies” 😂 Both sides claim it with country names—pure cultural flex!

I usually skip trends, but got hooked during COVID with dalgona coffee. Trend-chasing can be fun if you enjoy the hype! Perfect dopamine hit (but watch the sugar crash). Have you tried Dujjonku? Where’d you get yours?
