For the Korean Lunar New Year, my family enjoyed a diverse feast that beautifully blended traditional Korean dishes with Western-style favorites. The table featured classic holiday staples like Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), savory pancakes, and Mapo Tofu, alongside fresh platters of salmon sashimi and sushi. To balance the meal, we included a vibrant Caprese-style salad and a cheesy corn bake, adding a refreshing and creamy touch. We finished the celebration on a sweet note with a decadent chocolate cake, making it a perfect fusion meal for the whole family. Can you see the envelopes at the edge? Those are ‘Sebae-bongtu’ (New Year’s money envelopes) for the elders’ blessings
