I heard that the Korean team won the “Bread World Cup” held in Paris, France with their turtle ship bread! That’s amazing!
The Bread World Cup is one of the most prestigious international baking competitions in the world, held every two years in Paris, France. The competition evaluates a wide range of baking skills, including artistic bread, baguettes, and pastries, to determine the overall champion team.
At the 2026 competition, the Korean national baking team won the gold medal and claimed first place. This victory marked their first win in 10 years since 2016 and showcased the high level of Korea’s baking skills to the world.
They received great praise for creating a bread sculpture modeled after the Geobukseon (Turtle Ship), the ironclad warship from the Joseon Dynasty.
I was truly amazed when I saw the final piece. I couldn’t believe something like that could be made out of bread!

Wow, I thought it was a sculpture, not bread! It looks absolutely amazing. After seeing your post I searched for it and found out one team member is the CEO of Tomoru Gwajajeom bakery – my current favorite! I even bought some from there today! 😍
It really makes my Korean patriotism grow even stronger. So impressive!
