Today, I had the chance to try something special—Ureong Ssamjang.
Ureong ssamjang is a traditional Korean dipping sauce made with freshwater snails, fermented soybean paste, and ingredients such as gochujang (Korean chili paste), garlic, onions, green onions, and sesame oil, all cooked together.
I learned that it is usually served with fresh vegetables like lettuce, perilla leaves, cucumbers, and green chili peppers, or with grilled meat. You simply spread a little ureong ssamjang on the vegetables, wrap them around the meat, and enjoy them as a Korean-style lettuce wrap (ssam).
