Jeonghee Restaurant in Gimpo: Korean Fusion Done Right🥢

Had an amazing meal at Jeonghee in Gimpo this weekend, and I gotta share! 🥢

Spicy Buckwheat Noodles (매콤 들기름 메밀면) – Most sesame buckwheat noodles are just nutty and mild, but this one has a kick of spice that changes everything. It’s not too hot—even spice-sensitive people would enjoy it. That little heat makes all the difference. 🌶️

Aged Kimchi Yukhoe (묵은지 회말이) – First time having this combo and wow. The umami from aged kimchi paired with fresh raw fish is incredible. I thought aged kimchi only worked with meat in traditional dishes, but this proved me wrong. So savory, so good.

Mackerel with Perilla Leaf Pesto (깻잎 고등어 지짐) – This is where it gets interesting. The perilla leaf pesto on top cuts through the fishiness of the mackerel beautifully. But here’s the thing—it’s not your typical Japanese-style mackerel bowl. It feels like Korean dosolbap (stone pot rice), which is such a cool vibe. And honestly? I think international guests who might be skeptical about perilla leaves would totally fall for this elegant version.

Blueberry Makgeolli (블루베리 막걸이) – Sweet, smooth, and the perfect way to finish the meal. 🫐

If you’re passing through Gimpo, definitely stop by Jeonghee. Real fusion done right! 🔥
