Unlike traditional Japanese omurice, Korean-style omurice uses tonkatsu sauce. In addition to the basic ketchup fried rice, it comes in a variety of versions such as kimchi fried rice, vegetable fried rice, bulgogi fried rice, and spam fried rice, often with a wide range of ingredients. As is typical of Korean cuisine, it tends to have a slightly spicy flavor and a strong umami taste.
